Samundra Institute of Maritime Studies (SIMS), Lonavala, commemorated International Women’s Day 2025 on 8th March at Z. P. Primary School, Takwe Khurd, Taluka Maval. The event highlighted the importance of gender equality, women’s rights, and empowerment, inspiring young students through real-life stories of women achievers.

Objective of the Event

• To honour womanhood and raise awareness on gender equality.
• To inspire students through stories of women achievers.
• To encourage equal participation of boys and girls in discussions on empowerment.

Activities Undertaken

• Interactive session with students on the significance of Women’s Day.
• Talk on the theme “For ALL Women and Girls: Rights. Equality. Empowerment.
• Sharing of inspirational stories of women across diverse fields.
• Open discussion encouraging student participation and reflection.

Outcomes and Impact

• 19 students (including 13 girls) participated with enthusiasm.
• Students engaged actively, fostering respect and inclusion.
• Support from school staff and contributors enriched the programme.
• The event left a lasting impression on students about the importance of equality and empowerment.
