Session on Good Touch Bad Touch for students at ZP School Takwe

An awareness session on Good Touch and Bad Touch for students of Classes 1 to 7 at Z.P. Primary School, Takwe was conducted by Samundra Institute of Maritime Studies. The session was led by Mrs. Poonam Kesarkar, Wellness Officer at SIMS

Through an interactive session, which was held on 29th August 2024, d, children were taught how to identify safe and unsafe touch, how to respond firmly by saying “Do not touch me”, and the importance of reporting such experiences to parents, teachers, or trusted adults. A practical activity on the “safe circle” helped make the concept clearer for the young students.

A short video further reinforced the learning, while the children actively participated by answering questions and sharing their thoughts. The session emphasised that their body belongs to them and highlighted the need to stay safe and secure.

The programme received strong support from the school staff and principal, with contributions from community representatives. Overall, it was an engaging and meaningful initiative that equipped children with essential knowledge for their safety and well-being.
